As the softball season starts to take off, many of the girls are looking forward to a fun and exciting season. The PC (Potosi/Cassville) team took on the Darlington Cardinals on March 19, 2024. They started off the season with a win, while also 10-run ruling the Cardinals, making the win even sweeter.

We all know with spring sports starting the weather never cooperates with what we want and have planned. One minute it can be 70 and sunny, and the next, we are under a winter weather advisory for a snowstorm. The PC softball team has only been able to play two out of the five games they had scheduled. It has been tough on everyone going through so many practices without having a game, but everyone shows up to practice and does their absolute best no matter the circumstances. With the weather being so unpredictable, that calls for some of the practices to take place indoors. Trying to fit 30 girls in the gym to practice batting, throwing, and fielding work is a struggle, but the PC softball team makes the best out of it.

Many of the girls are looking forward to a fun and exciting season. This is something that seniors Marah Vogelsberg and Wynne Siegert have been looking forward to since their freshman year. They both want to have a successful season and have as much fun as they possibly can in their last year. Many of the girls want to bring a lot of energy to the team and everyone wants everyone to succeed and do their best, which is a key point in many players' mental health. Softball is such a mental sport; it is important for the players to be surrounded by people and coaches who only want what is best for them. Senior and team captain Marah Vogelsberg wants the team to succeed and play their hearts out no matter the game situation. Vogelsberg has high hopes for this team and the season and says it is going to be the best one yet. The rivals you look forward to playing against play a big role in making the season fun and competitive. Many of the girls within the team are looking forward to playing the Belmont Braves and the Highland Cardinals because they are fun and exciting teams to compete with. Both teams are competitive and always put up a good fight keeping everyone on their toes.

With the PC season just finally taking off, they are hoping to show everyone the hard work and dedication that they have been putting in since the beginning of the season. Seniors and team captains Marah Vogelsberg and Wynne Siegert would like anyone who can to come out, watch, and support them.
