Chieftain News is not new to the district this school year. It started in 2020, but was put on hold because of COVID. Chieftain News is a video broadcast that was designed to give updates to all the students in district. The video highlights the special events that are going on within the school. It also contains the sports schedules, students and teachers of the week, book of the week, and weekly polls that are sent out to the high school students. Chieftains News also contains interviews and fun activities that other students within the district can participate in.

Many students look forward to the weekly Chieftain News. They look forward to having something to update them on the events of the week. Although it has been hard in the past to find students who want to participate in Chieftain News and put it on, this year is a different story. We have been lucky enough this year to have three students volunteer to put it on for us.

Wynne Siegert, Kadin Walsh and Gavin Wunderlin have volunteered their time to work with Mrs. Siegert to write, direct, and film Chieftain News. Every week they take their personal time to write and film the various segments. Once the video is filmed, it must be edited and prepared for the school’s viewing by Wynne Siergert. This is a lengthy process to make sure that the video is fun, educational, and factual. Lots of students have shown their support for the videos by responding to weekly polls and tuning in every week.
