In the next year, the boy's basketball team will be combined as Potosi-Cassville. With the new basketball team will come new opportunities, and both communities will almost completely come together.

After the 2025 season comes to an end, boys' basketball will officially be combined with Cassville, adding to the existing co-ops in football, baseball, girls’ basketball, and track. Plans for PC boys’ basketball will start as soon as summer comes around.

Combining the two teams could cause some adjustments because new jerseys will be expensive and both teams will lose a conference game. The average price of an away and home uniform, top and bottom, is around $200 for a single player.

The benefits will be a stronger team, and more boys to fill roster spots along with positions on the floor. Another benefit will be always having an extra gym so both boys and girls basketball can have practice right after school, instead of waiting for an empty gym.

Coach Michael Uppena and the boys on the team are excited about this new opportunity. Uppena said he is looking forward to seeing how the boys will come together and play. They do very well together in other sports, and he wants to see how they will do in basketball. “The bond is already there, so we don’t have to build new bonds and relationships, as we already know them from other sports,” said Reid Weber, who will be a junior on the basketball team next year.

Two schools coming together could be challenging and usually takes a while to adjust.  One of next year’s seniors, Will Tobin, thinks the two teams will adjust very quickly, and he is looking forward to seeing his friends from Cassville every day for the whole school year. He is grateful for past co-op sports seasons to prepare the relationships for next season's team.
