College is not for everyone; students who do not choose to go to college do not always get much attention brought to them and what they are doing after high school. There are many reasons why some students do not choose to go to college, including the cost of tuition or school not being their thing. Senior Riley Droessler said, “I can save money and learn more on the job than I can in a classroom.” Currently, Droessler is working in the construction industry, and he plans to continue to do so. In the next two to four years, when all of his classmates are finally graduating from college, he plans to own his own home and have money in the bank.

Many students choose not to go to college because of the cost and the debt they would be in for the majority of their lives. The main reason for Riley not attending college is because of the work he has done over the summer in the past few years.

Another student who does not plan to attend college is senior Reanna Pink. She currently works at Walmart, stocking shelves. Reanna has decided not to attend college right now; she would like to work and save as much money as she can for now. Reanna said, “College is just really not for me, and I need to take some time and decide if I want to go later and what I would want to go for.”

When asked where Reanna sees herself in the next two to four years, when her classmates have finished college, she said, “I might be going to college, but I have not really decided.”

Both of these students plan on going right into the workforce as soon as they graduate from high school and saving as much money as they can. By not going to college, they both plan on saving their money and not being in debt as most of their classmates will be when they graduate. Reanna and Riley both said they plan on staying local for now and working at the jobs they are currently at; neither of them plans on moving away anytime soon.
