Cindy Kelly joined Tennyson Treasures with my Aunt Alesha to sell the jewelry that she has been making forever, but never had the place to sell it.  She made different styles of jewelry and she had it built up over the years of making it but not selling it. When she got the opportunity to join Tennyson Treasures, it was a simple “yes.”

Cindy Kelly sells handmade jewelry from her business called Emotions Gemstones. She said, “I am always trying to put things together to make new things.” She is always trying to advance her jewelry and make it better by making new items and making old items better quality.

Tennyson Treasures is located in downtown Potosi right across from the library. They are open on Thursdays and Fridays from 10:30 to 5,  Saturdays from 9 to 5, and Sundays from 9 to 3. Cindy loves being a part of the business because she loves showing people what she has created and interacting with the people who come in. Cindy is retired, so she has plenty of free time to help at the store and make new products to sell.

Cindy had a lot of products made before she started the business with Alesha, so deciding to join the business was a no-brainer. Cindy usually gets her ideas by seeing something on the internet and then she decides to make it herself, but she changes it up a little. Cindy sells many items: handmade bracelets, suncatchers, necklaces, keychains, and many more things. Her favorite thing to make is sun catchers.

A lot of the customers that come into Tennyson Treasures are known to either Cindy or Alesha, although there are a lot of new customers who come in at various times of the year.  Although it is many of the same customers, Cindy said, “Most of the time they are coming in to buy special gifts for people or gifts for holidays.” Summers, weekends, and holidays are the main time that people are coming in to visit the store. They usually see the most people during the Catfish Festival, when tourists visit town.

Cindy enjoys making her jewelry in her free time and she loves sharing her ideas with others.
