District

Welcome!

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. On behalf of the Board of Education, students, and staff, it is my privilege to welcome you to the Potosi School District website. Here, you will find information about all aspects of our district, including our curriculum, programs, facility, achievement results and more. Please know that your personal contact with us, and input to us, is always welcomed and valued.

Much of our success is due to the commitment and teamwork of our parents, teachers, community members, administrators, board members, and most importantly, our students. We take pride in the successes we have already attained, and we continue to raise the bar for ourselves in order to continuously improve and to meet the ever-rising expectations of our society.

We are committed to providing a challenging and engaging curriculum, skilled and caring instruction, and a learning environment that responds to individual student needs. Our work is guided by research and the belief that every student is capable of attaining high levels of educational achievement in preparation for meeting the rigorous demands to be college and career ready.

As you are aware, there a several initiatives that school districts across the state are mandated to implement. One of these is the new teacher evaluation model. We began studying and implementing the CESA 6 Teacher Effectiveness system during the fall of the 2013-14 school year. Our staff is also focused on continuous learning and development. This involves the implementation of Professional Learning Communities (PLC’s) and collaborating to improve student achievement outcomes. Our staff is involved in continued learning and implementation of RtI (Response to Intervention) which is a focus on meeting all students’ academic needs; as well as PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Support) which involves meeting all students’ social and behavioral needs. Another important focus that we have is community engagement. We believe in building strong community relations through openness, transparency, input, and honesty. We understand that we can’t please everyone (even though we want to). Our focus is to be fair and consistent, and to make decisions that are in the best interest of students and the school district.

If you have any comments, ideas, or suggestions, please feel free to contact me or schedule a meeting. If you are in the area, feel free to drop by my office. I would enjoy meeting you and hearing your ideas about our school district.

Sincerely,

Ronald S. Saari
District Administrator
